SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads swept a Peach Belt Conference dual match from USC Aiken on Friday afternoon, with the women taking a 9-0 win and the men snapping their eight-game slide with a 6-3 win over the Pacers.

The No. 5-ranked Lady Pirates improved to 15-5 on the season and 8-1 in the Peach Belt Conference with the victory. AASU swept all three doubles matches, then dropped just eight games in singles play as all six players picked up straight set victories.

The No. 12-ranked Pirates got back on the winning track by also sweeping the three doubles matches, then picking up three singles wins to improve to 8-9 overall and 4-3 in the Peach Belt Conference. Achim Roth defeated Fernando Guevara, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 3 singles, while Tim Offermann defeated Carlos Huerta, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 5 singles and Neil Murray defeated Bogdan Diaconesu, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.

The Pirates next host North Greenville in non-conference action on Saturday, April 12, at Noon at the AASU Tennis Complex.
