MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis teams split matches with Barry University on Friday afternoon as the No. 8-ranked women knocked off the No. 6-ranked Lady Bucs, 5-2, but the No. 4-ranked men lost to the No. 13-ranked Bucs, 5-2.

The Lady Pirates won two of three doubles matches, then took three singles of four singles matches that were completed. Zsofi Golpencza, ranked No. 6 in the nation, defeated No. 5-ranked Victoria Courmes, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. No. 9-ranked Michaela Kratochvilova defeated No. 45-ranked Maria Lopez, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.

The Pirate men's squad won two of three doubles matches, but in singles play that was delayed repeatedly by questionable calls and arguments, dropped four singles matches to fall to 12-7.

Both AASU teams are next in action on Saturday, April 14 at Lynn University at 10:00 a.m.
