BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis teams split matches with Lynn University on Saturday afternoon as the No. 4-ranked men knocked off the No. 25-ranked Knights, 5-2, but the No. 8-ranked women lost to the No. 3-rankedLady Knights, 5-1.

The Pirates dropped two of three doubles matches to the Knights, but won four singles matches to clinch the victory. Stefan Wirtz won at No. 1 singles over Raigo Saluste, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, while Blaise Tribolet won over Martin Carenko at No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-3. Christopher Petersen defeated Raphael Almeida, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3 singles, and Neil McPhee won at No. 5 singles over Toby Croke, 6-3, 6-2.

The Pirate women lost all three doubles matches, but No. 6-ranked Zsofi Golopencza defeated No. 3-ranked Monika Mastalirova at No.1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, for the Lady Pirates' only point.

Both AASU teams are now off until hosting the Peach Belt Conference Championships from Friday, April 19 to Saturday, April 21 at the AASU Tennis Complex. The Lady Pirates will be seeded No. 2 in the women's draw, while the men are seeded No. 5 in the men's draw.
