PBC Men's Tennis: North Florida 5, AASU 3

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Top-seeded North Florida defeated No. 5-seeded Armstrong Atlantic State, 5-3, in the semifinals of the 2004 Peach Belt Conference Men's Tennis tournament on Friday afternoon in Spartanburg, S.C.

AASU picked up one doubles win as No. 13-ranked Achim Roth and Dale White upset No. 10-ranked Leonardo Gomes and Elliott Wood, 8-5. UNF took a 2-1 lead into singles play with wins in the other two doubles matches.

The Pirates could only get one more point as Dale White defeated Damien de Polignac, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 4 singles. UNF won three singles matches to clinch the match and earn a berth in the finals.

The Pirates now take on Lander for third place in the tournament.
