Men’s Tennis: No. 12 Lander 5, No. 14 AASU 4
Women's Tennis: No. 7 GC&SU 5, No. 5 AASU 3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Georgia College & State University captured its first Peach Belt Conference women's tennis title with a 5-3 victory over Armstrong Atlantic State on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla. The AASU men's tennis team dropped the third-place match to Lander, 5-4.

The AASU women won only one doubles match as Zsofi Golopencza and Laura Peaty defeated Luiza Biktyakova and Mia Paavilainen, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles. Golopencza - who was named the co-MVP of the women's tournament - then defeated Biktyakova, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1 singles to tie up the match at 2-all. AASU took a brief 3-2 lead on Alejandra Aguilar's 6-0, 6-3 win over Kremena Vassileva at No. 6 singles, but GC&SU then won at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 2 singles to clinch the title.

The Pirate men led Lander, 2-1, after doubles as Achim Roth and Dale White picked up a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles over Emil Olsson and Tobias Edstrom, then Roger Thiele and Tim Offermann defeated Fredrik Hoglund and Gena Urbanovich, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles. AASU got singles wins from Achim Roth at No. 4 singles and Jonas Askeland at No. 5 singles, but could not pick up another singles win. The AASU men finish the season at 11-11.
