PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads downed Delta State in 2005 White Sands Invitational action in Pensacola, Fla., on Saturday afternoon.

The No. 13-ranked Pirates picked up two of three doubles wins, then picked up four singles wins to clinch the 6-3 victory over the No. 18-ranked Delta State men. Dale White defeated Thomas Pasquet, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 2 singles, while Peter Dedik blitzed Alexandre Nicolau, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles. Jeremy Mastnak and David Secker also collected singles wins.

The No. 2-ranked Lady Pirates remained perfect with a 9-0 blanking of No. 27 Delta State. AASU did not drop a set on the afternoon and Dziyana Nazaruk paced the Lady Pirates with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Natalie Dean at No. 1 singles.

AASU concludes action in the White Sands Invitational on Sunday as the men face St. Edward's and the women take on Ouachita Baptist at 9:00 a.m.
