PENSACOLA, Fla. The No. 4-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis team saw its run in the NCAA Championships end with a 5-3 loss to No. 6-ranked Barry University on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis National Championships in Pensacola, Fla.
The Lady Pirates won two of three doubles matches and got a singles win from Zsofi Golopencza at No. 1 singles but lost four other singles matches. Barry avenged a 5-2 loss earlier in the season to AASU with the win and advances to face two-time defending NCAA Division II National Champion BYU Hawaii on Saturday.
The Lady Pirates end their season with a 22-6 mark and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for two straight seasons.
