Four AASU Players Earn ITA Division II All-America Honors
AASU Men's and Women's Tennis Teams Finish Season Ranked In Top Six

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Four AASU tennis players – juniors Stefan Wirtz and Christopher Petersen for the men and freshman Stephanie Kovacic and sophomore Michaela Kratochvilova for the women – earned ITA Division II All-America honors based on the final season rankings released by the ITA.

The AASU women, who lost to defending champion BYU-Hawaii in the quarterfinals, ended the season ranked No. 5 in the nation. Kovacic, the ITA National Rookie of the Year, ended the season ranked No. 3 in singles while Kratochvilova finished the year ranked No. 9. The duo also finished the year as the No. 2-ranked doubles team in the nation. Kovacic and Kratochvilova each earned All-America honors in singles and doubles.

The AASU men, who fell to eight-time national champion Lander in the quarterfinals, ended the season ranked No. 6 in the nation. Wirtz finished the year ranked No. 17 in singles while Petersen ended the year at No. 19, each earning All-America honors in singles.

Armstrong Atlantic State is the only school to advance both men's and women's tennis teams to the NCAA Division II National Championships each of the past six seasons.
