FLORENCE, S.C. – The Armstrong Atlantic
volleyball squad could not hold onto a two games to one lead over
host Francis Marion on Friday evening, falling to the Patriots in
five games, 30-18, 30-32, 25-30, 30-28, 15-10.
Traci Knuth led the Pirates (16-10, 6-1 PBC) with 19 kills, while Lauren Good added 12 kills and Christina Flores collected 11 kills. Rindy Vidovich led a quartet of AASU players in double-figure digs with 22, while Flores added 20. Leah Schmiedge and Rachel Falco each tallied nine blocks.
Francis Marion placed four players in
double-figure kills, led by Kelly Feber's 19 kills. Jessica
Bartlett added 16, while Jackie Phiel had 14 and Lezlie Logan
tallied 12. Libero Jessica Strader led all players defensively
with 28 digs, while Jenna Kaiser tallied 55 assists to lead all
players as well.
AASU returns to action on Saturday afternoon as the Pirates face
UNC Pembroke at 3:00 p.m. in another Peach Belt Conference match.
