AASU Volleyball Defeats UNC Pembroke, 3-0

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State volleyball team improved to 14-6 overall and 5-2 in the Peach Belt Conference with a 3-0 win over UNC Pembroke on Saturday afternoon. Game scores were: 30-24, 30-22, 30-26.

The Pirates were led by junior Sarah Haynes' 10 kills and five blocks, while junior Erin Melius recorded 37 assists and 11 digs. Sophomore Erin Welty recorded a career-high 14 digs and five blocks in the victory, the Pirates' 12^th straight over UNC Pembroke (13-7, 3-4 PBC). The Braves were led by Melonie Allin and Rhesa Grady, who each notched 11 kills apiece, and Jill Wilson's 31 assists.

AASU will play its next 10 matches on the road, with their next match coming on Thursday, October 11 at No. 6-ranked University of Tampa at 7:00 p.m.
