kept pace in the Peach Belt race with a 3-1 victory over Lander
on Friday evening in Greenwood, S.C. Game scores were: 27-30,
30-24, 30-28, 30-24.
The Pirates (12-11, 6-1 PBC) are tied with USC Aiken atop the league standings after the Pacers knocked off Francis Marion on Friday as well. AASU moves on to play USC Upstate on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
Senior Adriana Miller notched a match-high 16 kills, while senior Traci Knuth added 12 kills and four blocks and senior Christina Flores added 10 kills. AASU improved to a lifetime 19-0 against the Bearcats in school history by holding Lander to an .058 hitting percentage.
The Pirates return to action on Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. matchup at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C.
