AASU Volleyball Picked Second In PBC Preseason Poll
SAVANNAH, Ga. (August 10) The Armstrong Atlantic State volleyball team has been picked to finish second in a preseason poll of the league's coaches, released today by the Peach Belt Conference.
The two-time defending PBC regular season champion Pirates have the unenviable task of replacing five starters from last season's squad that went 20-15 overall. AASU received two first-place votes and 21 points overall, behind USC Aiken, who received four first place votes and 24 points. Francis Marion was picked to finish third, followed by UNC Pembroke, Lander and Augusta State.
For the first time, the Peach Belt has also released a preseason All-Conference team for volleyball. Senior rightside hitter Rindy Vidovich was named to the 2007 preseason All-PBC team from AASU.
The Pirates begin the 2007 season on August 24th in Memphis, Tenn., at Christian Brothers' season-opening tournament.
