North Florida Downs AASU Volleyball, 3-0

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of North Florida hit .474 as a team in defeating the host Armstrong Atlantic State volleyball squad, 3-0, on Wednesday evening. Game scores were: 30-19, 30-13, 30-28.

The Ospreys (7-4, 3-0 PBC) got 20 kills from freshman Jackie Struck and 11 kills from junior Kristen Jansen in picking up their 17^th win in 18 matches against the Pirates (10-5, 2-1 PBC). Freshman Valerie Martinez added 43 assists and sophomore Jessica Bosacki added 13 digs for North Florida.

The Pirates were led by junior Sofie Hakansson's seven kills and 12 digs. Junior Erin Melius tallied 23 assists, including her 3,000^th career assist in the third game, becoming the first AASU player to reach that plateau. Melius is already the Pirates' all-time leader in assists in just her third season with the Pirates.

AASU next travels to Spartanburg, S.C., for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Rifles on Friday, September 28 in a Peach Belt Conference match.
