Women's College Basketball: Valdosta State 71, Armstrong Atlantic 49

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State (4-0) built a 36-19 halftime lead and coasted to a 71-49 win over Armstrong Atlantic State (2-1) here Tuesday. The Lady Blazers had four players in doubles figures, led by Hinesville's Candice Ferrell, who scored 18. The others were Traci Newton (14), Carley Peterson (13) and Brunswick's Khaleh Thomas (12).

The Lady Blazers held Lady Pirate leading scorer Alicia Durham to 13 points, four in the first half. VSU shot 47 percent from the field and held AASU to 30 percent shooting.

AASU returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 30, as the Lady Pirates open up Peach Belt Conference play against Clayton State at 5:30 p.m. at Alumni Arena.
