SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Florida Tech women's basketball team withstood a seemingly endless parade of Armstrong Atlantic free throw attempts to claim a 68-64 victory Tuesday evening at the Clemente Center, ending the six-game win streak of the Pirates. Jennifer Tamilio (Boston, Mass.) led Florida Tech with 13 points.

Armstrong Atlantic (9-4) converted 21 of 29 free throw attempts in the game, compared to just nine of 12 for the Panthers (7-3), as the Pirates claimed a 23-14 edge in fouls drawn.

Florida Tech's Ty-Anna Caravano (Melbourne, Fla.) and Danielle Quinn (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) chipped in 10 points apiece for the victors, while Audosha Kelley (Savannah, Ga.) scored a game-high 16 points and Ramona Wright (Clyo, Ga.) added 10 points to pace Armstrong Atlantic.

The first half started slowly, as neither team managed to score for the first 3-1/2 minutes, before Armstrong Atlantic took their only lead of the game, 2-0. The Panthers would quickly claim a six-point lead, 8-2, just over seven minutes into the game, before allowing Armstrong to draw even twice, 16-16 at the 9:27 mark and 22-22 with 5:11 left in the period. Tech managed to open their lead to 10 points, 35-25, with 1:18 to play before taking a 35-29 edge into the locker room.

In the second half, the Pirates managed to cut Florida Tech's lead to as few as two points, 51-49 with 8:26 left in the game, but would watch the Panther lead grow to as many as nine on three separate occasions down the stretch. Armstrong could not get any closer than three points in the final six minutes of the game.

From the floor, the Panthers outshot the Pirates, shooting 42% (28-of-67) and holding the visitors to 35% (21-of-60). The shooting edge was even greater from behind the three-point arc, as Tech shot 50% (3-of-6), compared to just one-of-10 shooting for Armstrong.

Florida Tech also dominated the boards, holding a 46-37 edge in rebounds. Shayla Fisher (Titusville, Fla.) and Tenisha Chase (Temple Hills, Md.) each grabbed a team-high six rebounds, while Armstrong Atlantic's Ashley Mason (Scottsdale, Ariz.) pulled down a game-high seven.
