The Pirates started the week off with a tough 30-8, 30-20, 30-24 loss at No. 23-ranked and PBC-leading North Florida on Wednesday evening.

AASU got back on track on Friday with a 30-25, 30-22, 30-15 win over Lander on Friday evening. Junior Sarah Haynes notched 12 kills and freshman Darcey Krug collected 11 kills for the Pirates, who improved to 7-0 all-time against the Senators.

Krug notched a career-high 18 kills in the match, while Haynes added 15 kills and 17 digs. The Pirates closed out their 2001 home schedule with a 9-3 home record and are now 32-5 at home over the past three seasons.

The Pirates travel to Augusta State for a Tues., Oct. 30 matchup with the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m., then wrap up their regular season schedule with weekend matches at UNC Pembroke at 7:00 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 2 and at Francis Marion at 4:00 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 3.
