Clark Atlanta held AASU to just nine field goals in the second half, erasing a five-point halftime deficit and cruising to a 74-65 win over the Pirates on Wednesday. AASU hit 60 percent of its shots in the first half in opening up a 39-34 lead over the Panthers, but Clark Atlanta outscored the Pirates down the stretch and also forced 30 Pirate turnovers in winning its second straight game of the year.
On Saturday, AASU raced out to a 32-7 lead, hitting 12 of its first 15 shots from the field, and held on for a 90-76 victory over Kennesaw State. The Pirates shot 59 percent in the first half en route to a 49-22 halftime lead and held off a second-half charge that saw the Owls get within 12 points with 2:25 left in the ball game, but KSU could get no closer.
