AASU committed a season-high 23 turnovers in Monday's loss to Clayton State. Corey Johnson led the Pirates with 15 points, while T.T. Hall added 12 points.
The Pirates got 21 points from Corey Johnson and a career-high 18 points to go with 12 rebounds from Franchot Brown in the win over Columbus State on Saturday. The biggest play came from senior Jamaal Galloway, who took a charge with 3.1 seconds left to preserve the two-point win.
Earlier in the game, Galloway passed CSU's Yandel Brown for second on the PBC's all-time three-point chart and Galloway now has 264 threes in his career.
The Pirates wrap up the 2007-08 season by hosting Francis Marion on Wednesday, February 27, at 7:30 p.m., then visiting Lander on Saturday, March 1, at 4:00 p.m.
Women’s Basketball (16-9 Overall, 10-8 Peach Belt Conference)
The Lady Pirates picked up two Peach Belt wins on the week and have now won five of their last six games, improving to 16-9 overall and 10-8 in the PBC.
AASU defeated Clayton State, 67-63, on Monday as Jasmine Herron's three-pointer with 31 seconds left snapped a 63-all tie and ended the Lady Pirates' nine-game losing streak to the Lady Lakers that dated back to 2003-04. Lacey Willis tied a career high with 22 points, while Herron added 13. Kaneetha Gordon scored nine points, moving her into second place on the AASU all-time scoring chart, passing Yolanda Oliver and Terralyn Edwards.

Baseball (7-0 Overall, 1-0 Peach Belt Conference, No. 10 Collegiate Baseball Top 30)
Rain pushed back the Pirates’ PBC opening series against GCSU. The Pirates took game one of the set against the Bobcats, 6-2, on Sunday afternoon.
Cody Walden hurled seven strong innings, giving up just one earned run, while senior Joey Davis drove in four runs, including a tie-breaking two run home run in the second inning, to help the Pirates to the win. AASU has now reeled off seven straight wins to open the season against teams ranked in the Top 10 and the win was the first against the Bobcats since 2005.
The two teams will wrap up their three-game series with a Monday doubleheader at 11:00 a.m. AASU will then travel to Francis Marion for a three-game PBC series beginning on Friday, February 29, at 3:00 p.m. and concluding on Saturday, March 1, with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
Softball (8-7 Overall, 4-0 Peach Belt Conference)

Men’s Golf
The Armstrong Atlantic State men’s golf team hosts the annual AASU/Southbridge Pirate Invitational this week at Southbridge Golf Club.
