CLINTON, S.C. – Freshman Lytle Cannon (Spartanburg, S.C.) netted her first collegiate goal in the 108th minute to give Presbyterian College a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Armstrong Atlantic State University in women’s soccer action Tuesday night at Martin Stadium.

With the victory, PC moves to 1-0-0 on the season as the Pirates fall to 1-2-0.

Armstrong Atlantic jumped on the board early in the first half as freshman Jamie Craine (Port Orange, Fla.) knocked in a header in the first minute to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Blue Hose would fight back, however, as junior Claire Joyce (Aiken, S.C.) took a pass from senior Megan Smith (Greenville, S.C.) and knocked it
past Armstrong Atlantic goalkeeper Tarra Kohler (Panama City, Fla.) to tie the game.

Both teams had chances in the first overtime, but Kohler and PC redshirt freshman goalkeeper Erin Sinkuler (Roswell, Ga.) made big saves to keep the match going.

In the second overtime, senior Elizabeth Ortstadt (Marietta, Ga.) hit a cross toward the goal that Kohler got a hold of, but could not hang on to the ball and Cannon knocked it in for the game winner.

The Lady Blue Hose return to action Saturday afternoon as they host Clayton State University in a 2 pm match at Martin Stadium. Armstrong Atlantic returns to action next Tuesday as they host Savannah College of Art and Design in a 5 pm match.
