Women's Tennis: No. 2 AASU 8, No. 9 GCSU 1

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The No. 2-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis team continued its perfect start to the season with an 8-1 win over No. 9-ranked GCSU on Tuesday afternoon in Milledgeville.

The Lady Pirates (11-0, 6-0 PBC) won two of three doubles matches, then swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Top-ranked Iuliia Stupak defeated Celine Martin (14) at the top singles flight, 6-3, 6-1, while Johanna Dahlback picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Sara Skagegard at No. 2 singles.

The win was the 78th straight regular season match victory for the Lady Pirates and the 37th straight Peach Belt Conference victory. Both streaks date back to 2003.

AASU will return to host UNC Pembroke on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in further Peach Belt Conference action.
