Women's Tennis: No. 2 AASU 9, UNC Pembroke 0
SAVANNAH, Ga. The Armstrong Atlantic State women’s tennis team dropped just six games in picking up a 9-0 Peach Belt Conference women’s tennis victory over visiting UNC Pembroke on Wednesday afternoon in Savannah.
The No. 2-ranked Lady Pirates (12-0, 7-0 PBC) dropped only one game in doubles play, then won all six singles matches in straight sets. The win was the 79th straight regular season victory for the Lady Pirates and the 37th straight Peach Belt victory, with both streaks dating back to 2003.
AASU returns to action on Friday, March 9, as the Pirates visit Division I foe Winthrop at 9:00 a.m. The Lady Pirates have won five straight matches against DI foes, dating back to 2000 their last loss came that year to Winthrop.
